The Challenge

The challenge is further compounded by unpredicted phenomenon like diseases, conflict; disasters etc occur and reorder the status quo, placing a need for models that can assist in coping and recovery efforts. The absence of a dynamic model with blocks and linkages that can predict end states such as goals has constrained decision making. The challenge is debilitated by the frustration associated with paucity of critical resources that will held the attainment of goals. We saw the need for an innovation that is amenable to a variety of applications which can directly and indirectly promote the attainment of goals.

The framework
Evolving solutions to address challenges are enhanced when a framework exists for modelling the phenomenon. The Goals Model was propounded to provide a framework that explains goal achievement orientation. The thrust of the model is that goal attainment is constrained by multiple contexts but that with requisite resources, the contexts can be overcome and that among these resources, commitment to goal attainment is a critical imperative
The model postulates that decision makers such as individuals, families, organizations, communities, groups, governments, etc envision a goal (OPIA) to attain, achieve or reach, which said goal is defined by its context (COPIA), .that typically include challenges, obstacles, opportunities, potentials, assignments issues, etc. Having the requisite resources, it becomes possible to overcome a critical threshold leading to commitment towards reaching the set goal.
